Layering Body Oil The Way a Facialist Would
The order, the pressure, the pause — and why it changes everything.

Most body oil is wasted — not because it is poor, but because of when and how it is applied. Oil is an occlusive. It seals. If there is nothing underneath to seal in, you have simply made your skin shiny.
Step out of the shower, press the towel rather than rubbing, and apply while skin is still slightly wet. The oil traps that water against the skin, which is where the softness comes from.
Three to four pumps into the palms, rubbed together for five seconds. Warmed oil spreads further, absorbs faster, and needs less product.
Long, slow strokes toward the heart — ankles upward, wrists inward. Firm enough to move the tissue, light enough to be pleasant. Circular work over knees, elbows and hips.
Two minutes before dressing. Everything about oil that feels greasy is really just impatience.
